KUWAIT CITY, May 27: The Ministry of Electricity and Water has revealed that significant progress is being made in the development of a strategic plan for energy conservation in collaboration with various governmental bodies and private sector entities. According to ministry sources, efforts are advancing swiftly, tailored to the specific requirements of each service sector.

One of the primary collaborators in this initiative is the Ministry of Education, with whom the Electricity Authority is actively formulating a year-round energy conservation strategy, extending beyond peak periods.

A dedicated committee within the Ministry is currently drafting a comprehensive conservation plan in coordination with the Ministry of Education. Discussions are focused on identifying and implementing measures during the summer months to reduce energy consumption in schools, particularly addressing wasteful practices prevalent in inactive school facilities during the summer break.

Furthermore, coordination has been established with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to address energy consumption during peak periods, specifically during prayer times. Measures under consideration aim to reduce energy usage during these periods, contributing to overall conservation efforts.

The sources emphasized that various measures have been implemented since last summer, particularly during prayer times, resulting in tangible reductions in energy consumption in compliant mosques. This collaborative approach underscores the Ministry’s commitment to promoting efficient energy usage across sectors for the benefit of the nation.
