Ministry of Awqaf suspends Kuwaiti Muezzin and a Expat Imam

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: The Mosques Sector of the Ministry of Awqaf has suspended a commissioned Kuwaiti muezzin and a foreign imam, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources.

The sources pointed the muezzin was suspended on the background of sectarian issue while the incoming imam talked about politics thus violating the Charter of the Mosques.

The source added that the Minister of Awqaf and Minister of Municipality Fahad Al-Shoula has stressed on the need to punish any person who commits a mistake or violates the charter of the mosques. He said the ministry is determined not to allow anyone to exploit religion by deviating from the true message of Islam.
