KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: According to reliable sources within the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, there are currently 496 employees with a tenure of over 30 years across various sectors within the ministry. The ministry has compiled a list of employees who have completed 32 years of service or more, anticipating their referral to retirement pending approval from the Minister of Electricity and Water. Those eligible for retirement will be aged 55 and above, and the ministry will not refer any employee with over 32 years of service who hasn't reached the age of 55. The decision to initiate retirement proceedings for qualifying employees is expected to be signed by the end of this month. The ministry has sought information from the Social Insurance Corporation and the Civil Service Commission regarding the eligibility of these employees for retirement pensions.

Simultaneously, the workers' association at the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy is staging a sit-in today at the main ministry building to advocate for the approval of allowances for ministry employees.
