KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, said on Friday that major road and infrastructure maintenance works are underway in the Yarmouk area, with ministry teams continuing field operations to repave streets and upgrade drainage and stormwater networks.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works, Al-Mashaan said the efforts fall within the ministry’s broader plan to develop and improve road networks and infrastructure across residential districts. She noted that the works include laying a Type 2 asphalt layer and completing the renewal of drainage and rainwater systems.
Engineer Mohammed Al-Enezi of the Sanitary Engineering Sector Implementation Department said the contract covers the renewal of sewage and stormwater networks, along with civil works on the roadside, such as curbstones, paving, and all asphalt layers.
Al-Enezi added that the project also involves upgrading lighting poles, telephone network systems, and the irrigation network, confirming that the work is progressing according to schedule.
