KUWAIT CITY, June 5: The Ministry of Social Affairs has issued an appeal to private nursery owners interested in operating nurseries during the summer and evening periods. Owners intending to apply are required to provide specific documents to facilitate the process.
According to the ministry's directives, prospective nursery operators must furnish an official letter along with an activity plan outlining the proposed period, objectives, and duration of the operation. The working hours for these nurseries should be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Additionally, nursery owners must submit a statement confirming the absence of any violations or complaints against the institution to the Complaints and Grievances Department within the Private Nurseries Control Department. Approval for operating during the specified times must be obtained annually in writing from the relevant committee.
In the case of nurseries catering to individuals with special needs, approval from the Public Authority for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities is mandatory. This requirement aims to ensure adequate monitoring of services provided. Moreover, approval from neighbors, as per the guidelines set by the Kuwait Municipality for summer or evening operations, is essential.
Furthermore, nursery operators are instructed to include a list of the names of the staff members who will be present during operation hours along with their fitness certificates.
These regulations are aimed at ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of private nurseries during the summer and evening periods while prioritizing the safety and well-being of children and staff members alike.
