KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17: Mohammed Haif Al-Hajraf, the former president of Al-Jahra Club, announced that the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, has agreed to meet with a delegation of former club presidents to address the ongoing crisis at the club. This crisis, which has persisted for nine months, has resulted in the suspension of the club’s activities due to a management dispute involving three parties.

Al-Hajraf expressed gratitude to the minister for his prompt response and for scheduling a meeting with the delegation next Sunday. He commended Al-Mutairi’s dedication to resolving not only the issues facing Al-Jahra Club but also broader challenges in Kuwaiti sports.

The former presidents convened at Al-Hajraf Diwaniya to discuss the club’s predicament. They outlined several action items, including meeting with the Minister of Youth, the head of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser, and officials from the Public Authority for Sports. Their goal is to find a resolution to the ongoing crisis, which has severely impacted the club’s games and teams. The lack of an official board of directors has hindered the club's ability to register players and manage employee and player salaries.

They also advocated for activating the General Assembly's role and forming a transitional committee to oversee the club’s affairs in the interim. They called for new elections to elect a fresh board of directors to end the club’s current troubles.

The presidents urged the three disputing parties to prioritize the club’s interests and work together to overcome the challenges that have plagued the Al-Jahra Club. They agreed to transfer the club’s management to any of the parties involved if they secure an execution ruling from the Kuwaiti courts. The meeting was attended by nine former club presidents: Muhammad Al-Hajraf, Badr Al-Thabet, Lafi Manshed Al-Dhafiri, Khaled Al-Jarallah, Saadoun Rafe Al-Hussaini, Mujbil Gharbi Al-Shammari, Hassan Al-Busairi, Awad Al-Sahou, and Dhaham Al-Shammari. The current head of the Basketball Federation, Dhari Burjas, and former head of the Fencing Federation, Abdul Rahim Al-Sahib, were also present.
