Michelle Dee wins Best National Costume in Miss Universe 2023

MANILA, Philippines, Nov 25, (Agencies): Michelle Dee, the Philippines’ representative for Miss Universe 2023, soared to victory by securing the pageant’s Best National Costume title with her aviator-themed ensemble, as announced by the Miss Universe organization on Nov 24.

Earning the highest number of fan votes on the official Miss Universe app in the National Costume category, Dee showcased her patriotic attire on the Miss Universe stage on Nov 17 (Manila time). Her national costume pays homage to her role as an Air Force Reservist while also serving as a promotional showcase for the country’s vibrant tourism industry.

Adorned with airplane-like wings, Dee’s costume seamlessly transformed to unveil an intricate mural depicting various facets of Filipino culture. At the mural’s heart was the Department of Tourism’s impactful slogan, “Love the Philippines.”
