Team to start emergency maintenance works on devices

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: The Ministry of Electricity and Water is currently preparing for the resumption of the fingerprint attendance system, coinciding with the full return of workers, as per the decision of the Council of Ministers in its last meeting, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources. Sources confirmed the Fingerprint Attendance Team will start emergency maintenance works for the devices next week in order to ensure these devices are ready for the full return of employees.

Install
Sources disclosed that after the holiday, the team will install and activate the new fingerprint devices for the face and smart fingerprint attendance system. Sources said 75 percent of the devices are now in the ministry’s warehouses, indicating the last shipment of these devices is expected to arrive next week. Sources explained the installation of these devices was postponed due to measures aimed at curbing the spread of corona; confirming that installation in 200 sites will be completed soon, that is, after the installation in 20 sites prior to the implementation of measures related to corona. So far, the data of 20,000 employees have been updated in the new fingerprint system.

About 7,000 employees will be asked to update their data in their respective work stations in order to serve those who cannot come to the ministry due to the nature of their work, sources added. Sources affirmed that the installation plan in general is expected to conclude in April when the new system will be operated and old devices will be removed in each installation site. Sources said the smart fingerprint system is in its final stages and it will be activated on the Fingerprint Attendance Team members’ mobile phones for testing purposes and to address problems, if any, before the application is downloaded on the employees’ mobile phones.
