Kuwait aims to modernize power and water plants with skilled technical teams.
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: The Administrative Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy recently signed its first employment contract with an individual whose citizenship was revoked. According to informed sources from the ministry, the contract will be submitted to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to ensure the integrity of the appointment process in accordance with the new contract format approved by the Civil Service Council. The ministry is expected to finalize, within the coming week, the signing of contracts with 160 additional individuals whose citizenship was revoked. Meanwhile, ministry officials have finalized amendments to the new organizational structure and are preparing to present them to Minister Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem.
The revised structure will then be forwarded to CSC next week for official approval. In another development, the ministry’s monthly statistical report revealed that total electricity installations for August reached 75,882 kilowatts in all sectors of the country, covering 684 plots. The private sector ranked first with 639 plots and a total load of 61,337 kilowatts, accounting for 80.8 percent of the total installations. According to the report, the investment sector came second with 13 sites and a total load of 4,120 kilowatts, representing 5.4 percent of the total. The agricultural sector ranked third with a load of 1,853 kilowatts, followed by the government sector in fourth place with 2,593 kilowatts. The commercial sector ranked last, with a total load of 1,328 kilowatts.
