KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: The acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, has forecast changing weather conditions across Kuwait over the coming days, including an increase in humidity, dense fog, and chances of rain with occasional thunderstorms over the weekend.
Al-Ali stated that starting Wednesday evening, relative humidity levels are expected to rise significantly, leading to the formation of thick fog in several areas. Horizontal visibility may drop to less than 1,000 meters, and in some locations, it could be reduced to nearly zero. Motorists and residents have been urged to exercise caution, especially during late-night and early-morning hours when fog intensity is at its peak.
Explaining the broader weather patterns, Al-Ali noted that Kuwait is currently under the influence of a high-pressure system extending from the northwest. This system is accompanied by a moderately warm and humid air mass, combined with light, variable southeasterly winds that contribute to stable yet moisture-laden atmospheric conditions.
He added that fog formation is likely to persist intermittently over the next few days, particularly in open and low-lying areas. As the weekend approaches, cloud cover is expected to gradually increase, giving rise to chances of light and scattered rain across different regions of the country.
Al-Ali further mentioned that some of the rainfall on Saturday and Sunday may be accompanied by occasional thunderstorms. The Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the situation closely and issue updates as needed, urging the public to stay informed through official weather bulletins and advisories.
