KUWAIT CITY, May 22: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has highlighted its strict inspection and quality assurance procedures designed to ensure food safety at every stage of meat processing. The process begins with the humane reception and examination of animals in a controlled environment, where animal welfare standards are observed and slaughter is carried out in accordance with Islamic law. This is followed by a comprehensive veterinary inspection to confirm the suitability and quality of the meat.
After inspection, carcasses are thoroughly washed, dried, and stamped with an official seal certifying that they have passed all health and safety checks. The meat is then transferred to specialized cold storage facilities to preserve freshness and nutritional value, before being transported in refrigerated vehicles under controlled temperatures. The authority emphasized that these measures ensure continuous monitoring from the slaughterhouse to the consumer, guaranteeing safe and high-quality meat for the public.
