Mastermind Egyptian forger arrested and brought back to Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Kuwait, with the help of Interpol, has succeeding in bringing back to the country the ‘mastermind’ behind the forgery of false certificates, reports Al-Qabas daily. The man had reportedly fled to Egypt and then to Turkey after the forgery was discovered and was widely covered by the media.

Knowledgeable sources pointed out the security authorities in the UAE informed their Kuwaiti counterparts that the suspect was in the emirate after he had allegedly escaped to the UAE from Turkey. The Egyptian was handed over to Kuwait and referred for investigation.

The same sources said, during interrogation, the suspect has reportedly admitted his countryman working for a university on the outskirts of Cairo is his main partner who provided him blank forms of university certificates which he then filled upon request. The sources explained that the accused has confessed that he kept all the data of the persons who dealt with him and obtained false scientific certificates, most of them Kuwaitis.
