Massive Kuwait Security Sweep: 187 Arrested, 445 Traffic Violations Issued

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: The Security Directorates Affairs Sector, represented by the Capital Governorate Security Directorate, has carried out a large-scale security campaign across several areas of the governorate, resulting in the arrest of 187 people in criminal cases, residency and labor-law violations, absconding cases and other offenses.

The campaign was conducted in cooperation and coordination with Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition as part of ongoing efforts to apprehend wanted individuals, enforce laws and regulations, address violations and strengthen security across the Capital Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior said the operation also resulted in the arrest of 23 individuals under judicial detention, while 10 motorcycles were impounded and transferred to the traffic garage. Three street vendors were arrested, and four individuals were taken into custody for having expired visas.

The campaign also targeted individuals in violation of public-order and identification requirements. One person was arrested for being in an abnormal state, two were arrested for begging, and four were detained for not possessing identification documents.

Violations and enforcement actions

The authorities said the necessary legal and administrative procedures were taken against all violators in preparation for their referral to the competent authorities.

The campaign reflects continued field operations by the Interior Ministry and its partner agencies to enforce Kuwait's laws, remove violations and enhance security and public order across residential and commercial areas of the governorate.
