KUWAIT CITY, Jun 4: The Ministry of Interior has made significant strides in combating the drug trade and protecting society from its devastating effects. In a recent operation, the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, arrested six individuals, including five male and female citizens, for attempting to smuggle approximately one million capsules of the controlled substance Lyrica into the country through Kuwait International Airport.
The arrested individuals, including two employees of the General Administration of Customs, were found in possession of the illegal capsules, which are estimated to be worth two million Kuwaiti dinars on the black market. The seized items and the arrested individuals were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that its efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect society will continue. It urges everyone to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities to the emergency hotline (112) or the General Administration for Combating Drugs hotline (1884141).
