Frankis Marzo goes for a goal against Saudi Arabia during the Gulf Games.

KUWAIT CITY, May 23: Frankis Marzo is set to join the Kuwait Club’s training sessions tomorrow after completing his participation with the Qatari national team at the 4th Gulf Games in Doha, where Qatar finished runner-up behind Bahrain.

The “Whites” are continuing their intensive daily training camp with morning and evening sessions as they gear up for the 28th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 IHF Super Globe in Egypt.

Kuwait Club will host the continental tournament from June 6 to 15 at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex.

The technical staff plans to give players a short break during the Eid Al-Adha holiday before resuming preparations under a program aimed at boosting the squad’s fitness and technical readiness ahead of the Asian event.

At the same time, Kuwait Club and Kuwait national team star Saif Al-Adwani has returned to training gradually after recovering from the injury he sustained during his stint with Qatar’s Al-Arabi at the end of the current season. The coaching staff is expected to increase his workload progressively to ensure he is fully prepared for the start of the championship.

In another development, Qadsia handball administrator Haider Bahman confirmed he will step down from his role with the team next season due to personal and work commitments.

Bahman explained that he is currently focused on managing his legal office and his duties as a players’ agent, with several ongoing contracts and legal responsibilities involving handball players from various clubs, including contract negotiations and legal representation.
