‘Marriage Grants’ spending in Kuwait climbs

KUWAIT CITY, May 3: The State budget report for fiscal year 2026/2027 revealed the approval of KD19 million expenditures for the ‘Marriage Grants’ item -- an increase of KD5 million compared to KD14 million for the same item in the previous fiscal year (2025/2026). It is worth noting that the ‘Marriage Grants’ item falls under the ‘Social Benefits’ section of the general budget, which includes cash or in-kind transfers to protect society as a whole or specific groups from certain social risks. The grant is disbursed as per the regulations and procedures, which require the submission of supporting documents.
