KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Ministry of Public Works cited many reasons for the decrease in the number of employees in the Inspection and Audit Office, including transfer, retirement and resignation, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed that several employees requested for transfer within the ministry or outside to benefit from financial privileges, which the office does not provide.

Sources said the office needs specialized staff with the required experience and competence, indicating the office had earlier announced vacancies and it has so far recruited 25 employees. Sources pointed out the office plays a vital role in maintaining discipline in the ministry in accordance with the laws and regulations on protecting public money and working in the interest of the public. Sources added the current number of workers in the office is not enough to carry out the tasks stipulated in the Cabinet decision, such as reviewing reports and other important tasks.
