KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Security Directorates Affairs Sector, through the Hawally Governorate Security Directorate—Operations and Patrols Department—has arrested a Canadian citizen on a visit visa seen in a video circulating on social media vandalizing several parked vehicles in the Salmiya area. The incident came to light after the Operations Room received a report alerting authorities to the disturbance.
According to security officials, a support patrol was immediately dispatched to the location after the video footage and initial complaint were reviewed. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect was intoxicated with drugs and highly aggressive state. Shockingly, he was carrying a shovel, which he used to smash the windshields of seven vehicles.
Due to his violent behavior, security personnel were forced to physically subdue and restrain him before taking him into custody. The man was then referred to the Salmiya Police Station for legal action.
Authorities also instructed the owners of the damaged vehicles to report to the police station to complete the necessary procedures.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated that it will continue to respond swiftly and decisively to acts of vandalism or any attempts to damage public or private property, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and residents.
