Man accused of kidnap, sexual assault on 2 girls acquitted

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: The Criminal Court has acquitted an individual, known only as Al-Mazyoun, of abducting two girls, sexually assaulting them, and trafficking them after he tricked them into accepting a job in exchange for an alluring monthly salary.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with human trafficking and transporting the victims from their homes with the intent to exploit their vulnerabilities. The first victim was seeking a job with a good monthly salary, and the second wanted to relocate. He reportedly sexually exploited them for several days before his arrest. The defense counsel Lawyer Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan, representing the defendant, stated that the testimony of the incident investigation officer in court revealed no new evidence to support the charges against the defendant.

On the contrary, the testimony of the incident investigation officer provides evidence supporting the defendant’s denial of kidnapping the two complainants and depriving the second complainant of her freedom. Most of the officer’s responses were negative, as reflected in the session minutes.
