India take silver, Japan claim bronze

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23, (KUNA): Malaysia on Wednesday won its second gold medal at the 25th Asian Bowling Championship for men and women held in Kuwait.
Timmy Tan was able to win the gold after his deserved victory in the competition, where he scored the highest points, 1,556, leading his country’s national team at the championship to first place, by three gold medals and one bronze.
India took silver medal with 1,524 points, while Japan took the bronze medal after collecting 1,522 points.
In this regard, Tan in a statement following the coronation expressed his great happiness and pride in achieving the men’s singles title in the largest sports forum on the continent.
He stressed on his country’s keenness to participate in the tournament with a young and promising team in an effort to restore the glories of his country in the game.
He also praised the great organization of the championship led by the resident of the International and Asian Bowling Federations, and Chairman of Kuwait Bowling Club, Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.
