Majority of Drones Neutralized Off Rumaithiya and Salwa Areas

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 2: Brigadier General Mohammed Al Mansouri, Director of the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Kuwait Ministry of Interior, said on Monday that most drones approaching the country via the sea near the areas of Rumaithiya and Salwa were successfully intercepted, with no injuries reported.

In a press statement, Al Mansouri said personnel of the Kuwaiti Air Defense Force dealt efficiently with a number of hostile aerial targets at dawn, stressing that the overall situation in the country remains stable and there is no cause for concern. He added that the relevant authorities are monitoring developments around the clock through an integrated operational system.

Al Mansouri noted that the General Directorate of Civil Defense received reports of explosion sounds in some areas, explaining that the noises were the result of aerial interception operations. He affirmed that Air Force personnel continuously monitor and track aerial targets before they enter the country’s airspace.

He also emphasized that the Cyber Crimes Department is closely monitoring websites and social media accounts that spread rumors or misleading information intended to incite panic and destabilize the country. Authorities, he said, will take legal action against anyone found publishing or recirculating false information, urging the public to act responsibly.

Al Mansouri further highlighted high-level coordination within the Emergency and Crisis Room of the Supreme Committee for Civil Defense, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, and comprising 22 government entities to ensure rapid information-sharing and timely decision-making.
