The incident reportedly took place after the maid claimed she had not received her salary, which led to an argument that escalated into the destruction of property inside the residence. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Pay the worker his wages before his sweat has dried,” as reported in Sunan Ibn Majah. The saying highlights the importance of promptly and fairly compensating workers for their efforts. It emphasizes that wages should be paid without delay once work is completed and should not be unjustly withheld, reflecting the principles of justice, fairness, and respect for labor in Islam.
