French President Emmanuel Macron is set to be the guest of honor at India’s Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2024.

While French presidents have been invited in the past, this occasion is special for two reasons. Firstly, it marks the first time President Macron has received this honor, and secondly, he accepted the invitation on short notice, stepping in for United States (US) President Joe Biden, who couldn't attend due to various reasons.
