KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: Further expanding its retail presence in Kuwait, Lulu has opened a new hypermarket at Jaber Mall in Jaber Al-Ahmad, taking its total number of stores in the country to 19. The new hypermarket was inaugurated by Raad Khalaf Al Abdullah, Vice Chairman of Combined Group, in the presence of Paramita Tripathi, Ambassador of India to Kuwait; Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Ambassador of the UAE to Kuwait; and Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group. “This new store marks another major step in strengthening our presence in Kuwait and bringing our retail offering closer to growing communities.
Looking ahead, we have five new projects planned over the next eight months, along with the development of our largest logistics centre in Kuwait at Al Shadadiya. These investments reflect our continued commitment to the country’s retail sector, infrastructure development and long-term economic growth,” said Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group. Spread across more than 8,500 square metres, the new hypermarket is part of J2, a major public-private partnership development under the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW). Designed as a modern shopping destination, the store offers a wide range of fresh food, groceries, household essentials and lifestyle products under one roof. It also introduces more than 500 new SKUs, including over 300 imported product ranges, giving customers a broader choice of products sourced from international markets.
For added convenience, the hypermarket features dedicated self-checkout counters, while the mall’s multistorey parking facility provides easy access for shoppers visiting both Lulu and the wider Jaber Mall development. Also present at the inauguration were Saifee Rupawala, CEO of Lulu; Ashraf Ali M.A, Executive Director of Lulu; Anand Ram, Chief Operating Officer of Lulu International Holdings; Sreejith K.S., Director of Lulu Kuwait; Sakkir Hussain, Regional Director, along with other senior officials and guests.
