Lowest bidder wins KOTC tender

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: The Higher Purchasing Committee for Tenders at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries has announced the awarding of the tender of Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) for the construction, completion and maintenance of an emergency road to link the fire station in North Kuwait affiliated with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and the liquefied gas filling plant in Umm Al- Aish affiliated with KOTC. The decision, which was published in the official gazette ‘Kuwait Al-Youm’, stated that the tender was awarded to a company that bid KD149,500 based on the lowest price principle, and complied with the required terms and specifications of a contract for 18 months, excluding the preparation and equipment period.

On the other hand, KOTC announced the extension of the closing date for the submission of bids for the tender for the rehabilitation of buried gas tanks and the development of gas networks until Oct 22, instead of Oct 1. The Higher Purchasing Committee for Tenders at KPC and its subsidiaries also disclosed that as per the request of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC); the tender for providing consulting services to evaluate quantitative risk models and their feasibility was awarded to a company that bid KD145,000 and complied with the terms and specifications. The committee revealed as well the list of companies invited to participate in the limited tender for cleaning the KPC tower and the common areas in the oil sector complex building.
