Lottery Gambling Dens Raided in Kuwait's Farwaniya; 13 Asian Expats Arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, has arrested 13 individuals of Asian nationalities in connection with an illegal gambling operation using a lottery system in the Farwaniya area.

The arrests were made as part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities and negative social phenomena.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were operating the gambling activity through two grocery stores located inside a shopping mall in Farwaniya.

Following surveillance and follow-up investigations, security personnel identified and arrested those participating in the illegal activity, along with the individual allegedly managing the operation.

During the operation, authorities seized equipment, documents and sums of money believed to have been used in the gambling activity.

Officials also discovered a quantity of prohibited tobacco products that had allegedly been concealed and prepared for sale.

The suspects and all seized items were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to pursuing illegal activities and taking firm action against those involved in practices that violate the law.
