Loss of lives in Iran attacks regretted

KUWAIT CITY, April 1: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Adel Al-Zamil inspected the final touches in the repair of the remaining overhead power lines damaged by drone debris. Al-Zamil, along with Director of the Overhead and Underground Cable Maintenance Department Eng. Athari Mohammad and several specialists assessed the repair work. He conveyed the appreciation of Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al- Mukhaizeem to the workers at the repair and maintenance site for their efforts in maintaining the stability of the electrical grid.

In a press statement, Al-Zamil revealed “the technical teams started their work immediately after the damaged lines went out of service. Today, we are witnessing the completion of repairs of the remaining damaged lines. Work is underway to repair some of the associated infrastructure.” Regarding the recent incident at a service building in a power station, which resulted in the death of an Indian worker, Al-Zamil confirmed that the incident did not affect production operations at the station. He expressed regret for the loss of innocent lives due to the heinous Iranian attack and expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

He indicated that emergency teams immediately began work according to the emergency plans to address the aftermath of the incident, while ensuring continuous operational efficiency and coordinating fully with relevant authorities to secure the affected site. He added that the recent attacks on infrastructure sites, including those belonging to the ministry, affected its routine maintenance programs in preparation for the summer season. He emphasized that coordination with partners and international manufacturers continues to complete maintenance work and overcome any obstacles before the season begins.

He pointed out that these developments demonstrated the great responsibility placed on the ministry to ensure the continuous delivery of electricity and water services to customers. He also appreciated the efforts of the employees in various sectors of the ministry, proving their sense of responsibility and national motivation to serve Kuwait.
