LOS ANGELES, Feb 26, (Agencies): In Florida, law enforcement pulled over a teenage boy for erratic driving on a highway at 2 am this week, leading to the discovery of a loaded revolver in the vehicle. The Walton County Sheriff's Office made the announcement through a social media post, revealing that a 13-year-old boy, whose identity remains undisclosed, was operating an SUV on Highway 98 near County Highway 393 North.

The SUV came to the attention of authorities when it "struck a large construction barrel as the vehicle entered a construction zone," prompting the police to intervene and bring the vehicle to a halt. Upon searching the SUV, officers uncovered a fully loaded 38 special revolver, along with a vape and a marijuana pipe, as stated in the social media update.

In response, the sheriff's office issued a criminal citation to the teen for driving without a license. By Thursday afternoon, the police indicated that they were in the process of applying for a warrant on charges of a minor in possession of a firearm.

A Facebook post from the department mentioned that School Resource Deputies had followed up with the family, and the child had been placed in distance learning pending potential arrest. Officials clarified that the citation issued to the boy is equivalent to an arrest without physical booking. The teenager was not permitted to drive away and was instead returned to his guardians by the sheriff's office, according to authorities.
