The annual report by Resonance Consultancy has unveiled the world’s best cities for 2024, with London claiming the top spot, followed by Paris and New York. The rankings are based on three key categories: liveability, lovability, and prosperity, taking into account factors like educational attainment, GDP per capita, poverty rate, amenities, and online recommendations.

In the GCC countries, Dubai secured the 6th position, followed by Abu Dhabi at the 25th, and Riyadh at the 28th. The capital of Qatar, Doha, claimed the 36th spot, while Kuwait attained the 58th position, and Muscat ranked 89th.

London is hailed as the “capital of capitals,” recognized for its winning culture, educational attainment, and thriving culinary scene. Paris secures the second position with multiple improvements, including the soon-to-reopen Notre Dame and a significant renovation of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. New York is celebrated for its cultural richness, museums, theaters, and the recent addition of the Little Island green space. Tokyo, ranked fourth, is acknowledged for its top-tier shopping experiences and continuous improvements, such as the expansion of Haneda Airport.

Singapore, positioned fifth, entices travelers with remarkable dining and shopping options, while Dubai, in the sixth spot, is lauded for its lavish and lively atmosphere. San Francisco ranks seventh for its job opportunities and innovative urban planning, and Barcelona secures the eighth position, praised for its unique combination of liveability and lovability. Amsterdam and Seoul round out the top ten, each recognized for their distinct attributes, including Amsterdam’s improved liveability and Seoul’s status as a global pop culture powerhouse.

These rankings highlight the diversity and excellence of cities worldwide, considering factors that contribute to their overall appeal and quality of life.
