KUWAIT CITY, April 13: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has asked all ministries and other government institutions to apply the condition for granting allowances to executive employees only if their line of work matches their field of specialization, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Indicating the CSC has ordered stopping payment of allowance contrary to this condition, sources pointed out this is in line with the rationalization policy of the State, particularly the reduction of expenses in ministries and other governmental bodies. Sources confirmed the decision is also applicable to newly appointed employees, asserting this aims to regulate payment of allowances to workers in public institutions.

Meanwhile, the Needs Assessment Department at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Mesaed Al-Mutairi confirmed that the authority has looked into the request of taxi companies and offices to hire reserve drivers, reports Al-Anba daily.

He said a circular was issued to all sections of the department to allow the taxi companies and offices to increase the number of drivers by 15 percent based on the number of registered vehicles. This means a company with 100 cars will be allowed to register 115 drivers, he explained.
