‘Limit people to 5 when signing marriage contracts as per rule’

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Director of Legal Authentications Department at the Ministry of Justice Dr Fahd Mubarak Al- Da’aen issued an administrative decision obliging the marriage officials (registrars) to limit the number of persons during the signing of the marriage contract to five in compliance with the health directives.

The copy of the decision which states: “All marriage officials must adhere to the Ministry of Health’s directive on social distancing. During the signing of a marriage contract, the persons present should be the following only: husband, one of his relatives, the wife’s guardian and two witnesses.”

The decision also stated that “all marriage officials must adhere to the times of partial curfew, as well as total curfew, in case it is imposed. Any violation will be submitted to the authorized committee.”
