Life-time salary, medical expenses for accident-hit woman

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13: The Court of Appeals ordered an insurance company to pay KD116,000 compensation, KD500 life monthly salary and KD200 medical expenses in favor of a Kuwaiti woman who was hit by a car.
Lawyer for the woman, Attorney Ali Matar Al- Wawan, revealed that a motorist hit his client due to careless driving and negligence. The reckless motorist hit a car from behind and that car also hit the other one in front before finally hitting the plaintiff.
The Misdemeanor Court had previously sentenced the motorist to seven years in prison with hard labor and KD200 fine. It became an interlocutory ruling after its publication in the Kuwait Gazette. The plaintiff suffered serious injuries leading to edema in the head, partial paralysis on the right side and loss of speech. She also lost the senses of taste, smell and cognizance in addition to the inability to reproduce.
