KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict that sentenced to life a woman who was accused of killing her husband early April last year in their apartment in Masayel area. The court instead sentenced her to death. During the court session, the Public Prosecution demanded the most severe penalties be imposed on the offender, namely the death penalty, insisting that she had committed the crime deliberately with premeditation, and did not deserve clemency.

According to the case file, the suspect, after fleeing the crime scene, took cover in a livestock pen in Kabd area, which belonged to a person who is believed to have been in an illicit relationship with her. After detectives arrested her in the livestock pen, she confessed to hitting her husband with a vase and a hammer on his head following a quarrel between them, wrapping his body with a carpet, and then fleeing the scene.
