KUWAIT CITY, March 16: The Court of Appeal has affirmed the life imprisonment sentence of an individual who abducted a Filipina woman employed at a renowned café in the Salmiya district, subjected her to assault, and impersonated a police officer. According to the court’s thorough review of all pertinent documents, investigations, and testimonies presented during the hearings, it was established beyond doubt that the victim had arrived in the country to work at the café and was on her way home when the perpetrator intercepted her in his vehicle.

Pretending to be a detective, he forcibly took her to what she believed was a police station but diverted to a secluded area, a remote spot with a trailer, where he confined her, intimidated her, and withheld information about her whereabouts and condition. The defendant’s legal counsel acknowledged the overwhelming evidence against their client, including witness statements and a site inspection report confirming signs of violence. Consequently, the court reaffirmed the aforementioned verdict.
