ROME, Oct 28, (Agencies): In Italy, a 75-year-old mother has successfully secured the eviction of her two adult sons, both in their 40s and gainfully employed, from her home, as reported by multiple sources.

The Pavia court ruled in favor of the mother, who initiated legal proceedings to remove her 40 and 42-year-old sons from her residence, according to a court clerk. In her court documents, she described her sons as "parasites" and alleged that they were residing in the family apartment without making any financial contributions or assisting in maintaining the household.

The mother had made repeated attempts to encourage her sons to live independently, but they had resisted her requests.

In the court's ruling, an Italian judge granted the two men until December 18 to vacate the apartment. The judge emphasized that there is no legal provision granting adult children an unconditional right to remain in their parents' home against their wishes, solely based on family ties.

While parents do have an obligation to provide for the "maintenance" of their children, the judge determined that this obligation no longer applied in this case since both sons were over 40 years of age.

The mother, who is retired and separated from her sons' father, relies on a pension for her livelihood, which is primarily used to purchase food and maintain her home.
