BEIRUT, April 26: Lebanon's government prevented on Wednesday, the illegal entry of Syrians into Lebanese territory and pursued whoever violates it. Minister of Social Affairs Hector Hajjar said in a statement following the ministerial committee meeting, that Lebanon will ask the High Commissioner for Refugees to provide the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities with regulations for Syrians to revoke their refugee statues to whoever leaves Lebanese territory.

Hajjar added that Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, and Ministry of Social Affairs will register Syrians born in Lebanon in coordination with the High Commissioner for Refugees, noting that Lebanon will to follow up on the voluntary return of Syrian refugees. He also asked the Ministry of Labor to monitor employment within permitted sectors, and the Ministry of Justice to investigate handing over the Syrian convicts to the Syrian authorities immediately.
