Lawyers in soup as two law firms shut down

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: The Kuwait Lawyers Society (KLS) has suspended the registration of several lawyers due to their involvement in cases related to State Security until final court rulings are issued, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The society also decided to permanently remove one lawyer from the roll of practicing lawyers following a final conviction that disqualifies him from practicing law.
Furthermore, the society confirmed that it has referred several lawyers to the relevant disciplinary authorities for committing serious professional violations that warrant accountability under the legal framework governing the profession. In addition, it decided to close two law firms after it was established that they were being managed by expatriates who were not licensed to practice law, in clear violation of applicable laws and regulations.
