KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: The Criminal Court sentenced a lawyer to three years' imprisonment after convicting him of spreading false news and statements regarding the grievances of women whose citizenship, granted under Article 8 of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law, had been revoked. The statements were found to mislead public opinion, incite unrest, and encourage violations of laws and regulations. According to the case file, the defendant used social media platforms to circulate inaccurate information and unsubstantiated claims, spread false rumors that undermined Amir’s authority, and incite others to break the law.
