LOS ANGELES, Sept 10: Los Angeles police discovered human remains in the trunk of a Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard on Monday, prompting a death investigation, authorities said.
The remains, described as a “head and torso” contained in a bag, were found after someone at the tow yard reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle, according to Los Angeles Police Officer Charles Miller. The Tesla, which had been abandoned for five days, is registered to musician David Anthony Burke, known by his stage name D4vd. The singer is scheduled to perform on Tuesday in Minneapolis as part of his world tour.
LAPD sources told The Times that the remains of two women were recovered in separate incidents at local tow yards this week. One body was found in a Tesla in Hollywood Hills, while another woman’s partially burned remains were discovered inside a Honda Civic at a different tow yard. The Civic, logged as towed on Aug. 25, is linked to a missing person report and is considered a separate case.
The gender of the remains in the Tesla could not be confirmed at the scene due to the level of decomposition, KTLA reported. The Hollywood Hills case has been classified as a death investigation, Miller said.
D4vd, pronounced “David,” gained prominence through TikTok, where he has over 3.6 million followers.
