Kuwaits’Al-Attar among the officials of Arab Weightlifting Championship

CAIRO, Oct 25: Kuwaiti weightlifting expert Ashwaq Al-Attar, known for her deep knowledge of the sport, is actively involved in the management of the Arab Weightlifting Championship for youth and juniors, currently underway in Egypt.

Al-Attar boasts prior experience in officiating numerous international and continental competitions, including the Asian Weightlifting Championship for junior and youth categories held in India last summer.

The opening ceremony of the championship, featuring the participation of 17 Arab countries, is set to be inaugurated by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports. Notably, Sudan, Morocco, and Palestine are notably absent from the event.

Al-Attar expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to take part in such tournaments, emphasizing how they contribute to her expertise in the field. She extended her gratitude to the Arab Weightlifting Federation for their trust in her abilities, as they have entrusted her with the role of refereeing in select championship matches. This reflects the high regard for Kuwaiti referees in the domain of weightlifting and underscores the faith that Arab federations and their counterparts hold in their capabilities.
