MANAMA, Feb 1: Kuwait’s Under-13 national squash team delivered an outstanding performance at the 31st Arab Squash Championship in Bahrain, sweeping the top four positions in the competition. Salman Al-Saleh captured the gold medal without dropping a match, defeating teammate Saud Al-Fawzan in an all-Kuwaiti final, while Saqar Al-Kandari and Khaled Al-Methen shared the bronze medals.
The remarkable results highlight the exceptional level of Kuwait’s young players and reinforce confidence that the future of Kuwaiti squash is in safe hands.
In the Under-17 category, Kuwait continued its strong showing, with Abdullah Hani earning the silver medal and Abdulrahman Al-Kandari claiming bronze.
Team events also began on Tuesday, with Kuwait securing victories over Qatar in both age groups. The Under-13 team featured Salman Al-Saleh, Saud Al-Fawzan, Abdullah Al-Ali, and Yazan Al-Ahmad. At the same time, the Under-17 squad included Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Kandari, Abdullah Maayouf, and Saleh Al-Kandari.
The championship concludes tomorrow, and the Kuwaiti delegation—headed by Hamed Al-Omran and supported by coaches Shereen Adel, Ahmed Abdel Aal, and Ahmed Al-Sayed—is scheduled to return to Kuwait on Wednesday.
