KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Fahid Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Winter Sports Club, expressed his gratitude to Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi for sponsoring the Level 4 Ice Hockey World Cup, which Kuwait will host next April under the supervision of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
Al-Ajmi told KUNA that the sponsorship provides significant support for the club and motivates its administrative and technical teams in their preparations for the tournament, which will feature national teams from Singapore, Armenia, Iran, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
He described the tournament as a major event offering Kuwaiti youth a unique opportunity to compete with their peers from five countries in a sport that ranks as the third most popular worldwide.
Al-Ajmi noted that the club has already begun organizing the event, holding meetings with the IIHF and organizing committees to meet all technical and operational requirements and ensure the championship is delivered at the highest standard.
He also extended thanks to the Public Authority for Sports for its continuous support and to all state entities that contributed to the tournament’s success, emphasizing the club’s commitment to showcasing Kuwait’s excellence and organizational capabilities through a distinguished sporting event.
