DOHA, Dec 23 (KUNA): The Kuwaiti weightlifting team claimed nine bronze medals at the West Asia Weightlifting Championship for youth, juniors, and seniors, in addition to three matching trophies at the Arab Youth Championship, both hosted in Doha.
Mohammad Karam stood out with three bronze medals in the 71kg category at the West Asia Championship. In comparison, Issa Al-Shaher matched the feat by winning three bronze medals at the Arab Youth Championship and adding three more bronzes in the West Asia competition.
The Qatari capital on Saturday marked the start of three major weightlifting events: the 10th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025, the Arab Weightlifting Championship for youth, juniors, and seniors, and the West Asia Weightlifting Championship across the same age groups
