KUWAIT CITY, Sep 24: As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the Ministry of Interior, through the General Traffic Department (Highway Department), recently carried out extensive traffic campaigns across all ring roads and expressways in Kuwait.

The operation involved a large-scale deployment of traffic and security patrols, with a clear focus on monitoring road behavior, apprehending violators, and taking swift legal action against offenders. The campaign also targeted individuals with outstanding legal cases and those suspected of engaging in illegal activities.

According to official reports, the campaign produced significant results:

  • 5,834 traffic violations were issued for various offenses.
  • 153 individuals were arrested for violating Residency and Labor Laws.
  • 10 individuals were detained for not carrying identification documents.
  • 5 wanted persons were apprehended.
  • 47 vehicles sought by judicial authorities were seized.
  • 2 individuals were arrested for possessing suspected narcotics and intoxicating substances.
  • 2 vehicles were impounded due to traffic violations.
  • 1 person was referred to precautionary detention.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that such security and traffic operations will continue with the same intensity, as part of a broader strategy to safeguard road users and maintain public order. Authorities praised the cooperation of both citizens and residents in supporting these initiatives and urged the public to remain vigilant by reporting any violations or suspicious activities through the emergency hotline (112).
