KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Kuwait’s Tanmeia Charity Society on Sunday launched a five-day humanitarian mission to Bangladesh under the slogan “Overflowing Giving 25,” targeting Rohingya refugee camps and impoverished communities as part of its continued relief, development, and medical efforts.
Director General of the Society, Dr. Abdullah Al-KamaIi, told KUNA that the mission includes establishing a comprehensive medical camp to treat more than 70 Rohingya children through major and minor surgeries. The initiative will also distribute infant formula and essential food baskets to improve food security among displaced families.
Al-Kamali added that the campaign features drilling and opening several wells to provide clean drinking water, distributing 50 sewing machines to help poor families generate income, and providing clothing to children. The mission also includes visits to various charitable and development projects supervised by the Society in Bangladesh.
He emphasized that the campaign reflects Kuwait’s enduring humanitarian commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and restoring hope for those in need. Al-Kamali commended the efforts of volunteer teams and supporting organizations, including the AAW RUN initiative, Basma Amal, and Nasayem Al-Khair volunteer teams, for their contributions to the mission and solidarity with the Rohingya people.
Public Relations and Media Director Musab Al-Otaibi told KUNA that the field team is working under challenging conditions to remain close to the affected families, reaffirming the Society’s dedication to delivering aid directly and conveying Kuwait’s message of compassion and solidarity to the world.
Al-Otaibi noted that the Society’s on-ground presence enables it to assess the dire humanitarian situation in the region, particularly the acute shortages in food, shelter, and healthcare. He stressed that the organization aims to implement essential humanitarian projects tailored to the needs of the Rohingya refugees and impoverished areas.
Meanwhile, Director of Humanitarian Work Dr. Mohammed Al-Rashidi stated that the projects carried out during the mission have a tangible impact on the lives of beneficiaries. He underscored the Society’s commitment to sustainable humanitarian work that not only provides immediate relief but also empowers communities and instills hope among those affected by crises.
Al-Rashidi affirmed that this mission is part of a series of ongoing initiatives reflecting Kuwait’s leading role in global humanitarian action and strengthening its reputation as a beacon of generosity and compassion.
