KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: In a thrilling finale at the first edition of the Arab Padel Championship 2023 in Dubai, the Kuwaiti Padel team clinched the second-place position on Sunday. The competition concluded with the Kuwaiti national team facing off against their Egyptian counterparts.

In an intense final match consisting of two closely contested games, the Kuwaiti team ultimately yielded to their Egyptian rivals. The first match concluded with a score of (7-6) and (6-2) in favor of the Egyptian team, while the second match saw a score of (6-2) and (6-2) again in favor of the Egyptians.
Omar Al-Zanki, President of the Kuwaiti Specialized Padel Club, shared his thoughts after the match. He praised both teams for their exceptional performances, characterized by tremendous enthusiasm. Al-Zanki acknowledged that the Egyptian team displayed a superior performance, which resulted in their victory.
Al-Zanki also expressed his gratitude to all the players and the technical staff for their dedication and extensive preparations that led them to the final match. He recognized that in sports, victories and losses are an inherent part of the journey.
Despite the loss in the final, Al-Zanki highlighted the Kuwaiti team's remarkable journey in the tournament. They achieved outstanding results in the group stages and overcame several strong teams to reach the final. He emphasized the team's determination to strengthen their position and achieve success in future competitions.
Al-Zanki stressed the importance of nurturing and encouraging young talent in the game of padel, expressing confidence in the team's ability to bounce back and aim for gold in upcoming events.
He extended his gratitude to the organizers, the United Arab Emirates, and Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the honorary president of the Arab Padel Federation, for their outstanding organization of the tournament.
Dubai hosted the inaugural Arab Padel Championship, organized by the Arab and Emirati Padel Federations, with the participation of 11 Arab countries. The tournament concluded with the Egyptian team securing the first-place title, the Kuwaiti team earning the runner-up position, and the Qatari team securing third place.
