Kuwait reports a significant drop in traffic violations, accidents, and fatalities in the first half of 2025 due to the implementation of advanced monitoring and surveillance systems.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The General Traffic Department of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has reported a notable decline in traffic violations, accidents, and fatalities during the first half of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.

According to official statistics released on Monday, traffic violations decreased by 16 percent, with 1,659,448 violations recorded in the first half of 2025, compared to 1,968,733 violations in the same period last year.

The data also showed a significant 45 percent decrease in traffic accidents, dropping from 2,511 accidents in the first half of 2024 to 1,383 accidents in the same period this year.

Moreover, the number of traffic-related deaths saw a 34 percent decline, with 94 fatalities reported in the first half of 2025 compared to 143 deaths during the same timeframe in the previous year.

These improvements are attributed to the Ministry of Interior’s intensified traffic control measures, the implementation of advanced monitoring and surveillance systems, and the continuous awareness campaigns conducted by the General Traffic Department.

Officials affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing road safety and reducing violations through strategic enforcement and public education initiatives.
