The victorious Kuwait team with officials

Kuwait’s soccer team won gold medal with a 3-1 victory over Nepal in the 15th World Special Olympics Games in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Mustafa Ezzat, Saeed Al-Rashidi and Sulaiman Al-Nasir scored for the Kuwaitis while Pichal Anil scored Nepal’s only goal.

Kuwait have 13 medals, six golds, five silver and two bronze.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Kuwait’s Special Olympics Vice-President Jassim Al-Yaqoub said this win was the result of the concerted efforts of all players and the technical and administrative bodies, noting that this achievement will serve as a great incentive to the players in future tournaments.

He expressed hope that the Kuwaiti players will receive more financial support from government agencies, the private sector.

He expressed his admiration for the efforts exerted by the United Arab Emirates in organizing the World Special Olympics Games. (KUNA)
