KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: The unified government e-services application, “Sahel,” has completed 111 million electronic transactions over four years, with its user base reaching 2.9 million, the official spokesperson, Yousef Kazem, announced on Monday.

Kazem told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Sahel is a unified digital government platform consolidating services from dozens of official bodies, offering citizens and residents easy access through a seamless experience.

He highlighted that over 32 million transactions were completed via Sahel in the current year alone, reflecting the confidence of users and the government’s commitment to enhancing service efficiency.

Sahel now offers over 460 services, boosting Kuwait’s digital government integration.

Launched initially with 123 government services, Sahel has rapidly expanded to offer more than 460 services across various ministries and agencies, becoming the country’s most widely used government application. It serves as a key tool to expedite transactions and reduce the workload on government centers.

Kazem pointed to a major achievement in the past year: the launch of the “Newborn Journey,” the first integrated government digital journey that streamlined multiple procedures into simple, quick electronic steps. This initiative is expected to pave the way for transferring more services to the digital journey model in the next phase.

He also confirmed ongoing work to release an upgraded version of the application, alongside plans to introduce new digital journeys, including the “House Document,” “Marriage Journey,” and the “Balagh” central service for reports—projects aimed at elevating the user experience to a more advanced, integrated level.

Kazem expressed gratitude to the political leadership for their strong support of Kuwait’s digital transformation, particularly the Minister of State for Communications Affairs, Omar Al Omar, calling their backing a cornerstone of Sahel’s success.

He also praised the cooperation among ministries and government agencies, which enriched the platform with their services and streamlined procedures, fostering institutional partnership and achieving tangible digital integration felt by citizens and residents in daily life.
