Kuwait’s rhythmic gymnastics takes center stage

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: The inaugural rhythmic gymnastics festival, organized by the Gymnastics Federation, concluded successfully at the Kazma Club Hall. The event, held under the patronage of Fatima Hayat, a member of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Committee and Chairperson of the Women’s Sports Committee, marked a significant moment in the presence of the Federation’s President, Board members, and a substantial audience of parents and fans.

A total of 54 participants from various age groups, representing the officially affiliated Gymnasia, Akro, and Salto academies, along with the Quick Steps Academy, showcased their talents during the competitions.

Fatima Hayat expressed her joy at witnessing the inaugural rhythmic gymnastics festival, commending the exceptional organization and the outstanding performances of the girls. She described the sport as deserving of comprehensive support, foreseeing a bright future due to the increasing demand and continuous development it is experiencing.

Hayat expressed pride in the female players and the promising talent displayed during the festival. She called upon the General Sports Authority to give due attention to rhythmic gymnastics and collaborate with the federation for its further development. Highlighting the consistent improvement in results at international championships, she extended gratitude to parents for their unwavering interest and continuous support, enabling their daughters to independently represent the Kuwaiti team in foreign championships.
